BIOGRAPHY
Alysia Raycraft is a painter and teacher of Art Studies. She is a costume designer and wardrobe professional for both film, television and theatre. She received her MFA in Costume Design from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts as well as an Artist in Residency in Costume Design with The New York City Ballet. Her undergraduate work is of Painting and Sculpture from the University of Texas at Austin with classical studies with the UTA Dept. of Art and Art History in Italy.
Alysia was a part of the puppet maintenance team for the original Broadway production of The Lion King, NY, and prior to that was the Make-up and Wardrobe Supervisor for Blue Man Group, NY. Her first years in the city she received a graduate Textile Surface Design degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology with additional studies in Illustration and Fashion Design while working as an in house and freelance Textile Designer for various 6th and 7th ave Textile Companies.
She currently lives and teaches Art in the NY Public School system while earning an MSEd in Special and General Education from Bank Street Graduate School of Education.
